Apurina Rapé - With Uncured Tobacco
Ethnicity: Apurinã
Sun Dried Herbs : Awiri, uncured tobacco ("green") and others
Strength : Gentle
he Apurinã Rapé with uncured tobacco is a classic green rapé crafted by the Apurinã people, who live in harmony with the Amazon rainforest. This unique blend centers around Awiry, a native Amazonian plant that grows exclusively in riverbeds during the dry season. Known as a "live" or "raw" rapé, its preparation involves sun-drying the leaves rather than fermenting them, as is done in more common varieties.
This rapé is enhanced with uncured tobacco, adding a grounding yet gentle presence to the blend. Without the inclusion of ash, it retains its natural essence, creating a rapé of exceptional purity and subtlety. Often referred to as a "Rapé of Light," it opens the senses with a flowery aroma reminiscent of the heart of the jungle.
Apurinã Awiri with uncured tobacco is deeply opening, facilitating a connection to nature and the spirit of the forest. It invites users into a state of clarity and expansion, offering a subtle yet profound experience. Its gentle strength makes it ideal for those seeking a soft yet powerful medicine to support meditation, grounding, and spiritual alignment.

About Rapé
Rapé (also hapé) is a finely ground blend of medicinal plants and ash. It’s most widely used in Brazil, though the Matses in Peru also have a green version with uncured mapacho. It is believed to go back to the time of the Incas. It can help focus the mind, release emotional, physical, energetic and spiritual illnesses, align the chakras, connect to higher consciousness and ground the body.
Storage: Please keep the bottle in a dark, cool place away from direct sunlight.
Sourcing:
Wankawi intends to do it's best for ethically sourcing these Amazonian Medicines. While traveling to the jungle to ensure cultivation, preparation, sale and shipment processes is not possible, we ask as many questions as we can to ensure all are in alignment with our values. We work with women suppliers and preparers when possible to support their livelihoods. We also buy from suppliers that have a well known reputation for highest quality products. Wankawi is driven by sustainability, in all senses. If any of these medicines become endangered, or we hear of unethical or ecologically destructive practices, we will discontinue offering these medicines. The foremost important aspect of working with these medicines is to listen - to the plants themselves, the Wisdom of the Earth and the communities and traditions from which they originate. Only when we take care of the entire system, can we truly heal, thrive and create a new world.
*A portion of proceeds (5-10%) is donated annually back to the communities or organizations working to support Amazonian communities and the plants.
