Wankawi intends to do it's best for ethically sourcing these Amazonian Medicines. While traveling to the jungle to ensure cultivation, preparation, sale and shipment processes is not possible, we ask as many questions as we can to ensure all are in alignment with our values. We work with women suppliers and preparers when possible to support their livelihoods. We also buy from suppliers that have a well known reputation for highest quality products. Wankawi is driven by sustainability, in all senses. If any of these medicines become endangered, or we hear of unethical or ecologically destructive practices, we will discontinue offering these medicines. The foremost important aspect of working with these medicines is to listen - to the plants themselves, the Wisdom of the Earth and the communities and traditions from which they originate. Only when we take care of the entire system, can we truly heal, thrive and create a new world.
